I'm about to do some kind of workout that the normal person just wouldn't do to themselves. I'm not a body-builder or fitness model like some of my friends who are also living a common dream of being a personal trainer. Nope - that's not my story. (Damn, if I'm not getting teary eyed thinking about this.) I'm the athletic girl who started struggling with her weight at 8 yrs old. I'm the girl who discovered a passion for weight lifting at 13 yrs old to deal with her grief/anger about her nephew dying. I'm the girl who struggled with depression, eating disorders, and the fear of being fat all her life. I'm the girl, who excelled on the field, court, etc, but never felt good enough because I was always bigger than the girl next to me.
I'm also the girl who gave her all, broke collegiate volleyball records and just NEVER QUIT.
My weight has gone up and down all my life. I'm the girl who has used exercise as a tool to deal with life's ups and downs. I have always tried to encourage others to JUST START MOVING - be patient because the results will come with persistence and hard work. I lost 47 pounds in 2015-2016, and I don't say that to brag, but to let you know it wasn't easy, and I struggle too. I still don't have 6-pack abs or a super low body fat percentage. I'm like everyone else just trying to get into better shape, control my eating portions, and make better decisions on a daily basis. I thank God EVERY DAY for my physical abilities - 2 arms, 2 legs, ability to walk, sit, stand, drive, and workout, because I use it as a coping method to get through this thing called "LIFE". I'm excited to share my passion for fitness with anyone who will listen. I'm far from perfect, but each day I try to be a little better. If anyone needs some support, encouragement, advice, or training with exercise, hit me up. I've been there. I'm that girl too...
